Oh hey, I forgot about this again

It’s kind of incredible what a talented procrastinator I am. Take right now, for example. I literally had to just type out a to-do list for my weekend on Word and it made me come very close to having a nervous breakdown. So, what do I decide to do? Put in disk 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 3, google Palladium boots and rediscover this blog for the third time. The sexual tension between Xander and Willow is through the roof right now.

Solid costume, Willow

You will be mine. Oh yes, you will be mine.

Also, I went to Delaware for Homecoming this past weekend. It was glorious. It made me realize how much I miss college and how much I don’t miss college. Example: I saw all of my best friends. I miss them a lot. I also went to a house party in a dirty basement and had cheap beer spilled over me, which was not exactly the shower I was craving after getting so sweaty. COLLEGGEEEE. Clearly best friends outweigh beer showers, so it was fantastic, and exactly what I needed. Blue Hens, baby.

I wish I knew this guy

Righto, I’m going to attempt to tackle that to-do list and start episode 2 of disk 2 (opening scene - Giles tutoring Buffy in Slayer 101 in the cemetery. She just side-kicked the you know what out of a newborn vampire).

Maybe I’ll write another post in the next 3 months. Maybe not.

xoxo.

Head In The Clouds - I Am

This is the next song we’re releasing off the forthcoming Head In The Clouds LP, “Broken Wax Wings.” It’s coming out 08/15/11 for free download, so we hope you check it out and vibe with us.

Don’t ever move.

Seriously. Just don’t do it. I implore you to find an instance where moving has been pleasant.

Yeah, right.

C’est pas possible.

Good thing I’m excellent at looking on the positive side of situations and can reassure myself by thinking about the amazing roommate I will be gaining (Crean Machine whatttuppp), the fantastic apartment I will soon call home and the super fun neighborhood I get to explore.

Also, I won’t be living in a studio in a half hotel/half apartment building. Holler.

In other news, I’m practically famous. No photos, please. I probably should have told that to the man who wrote the article…

Now come take my tour.

À bientôt!

This just in: it’s frackin hot.

Wait, you guys, is it supposed to be hot today?! I think I saw something about that on the news for like 5 seconds.

Obligatory Anchor Man reference: It’s so damn hot.

Good thing my dad went with water not milk:

Also, thanks be to all things Canadian that I’m not in Chicago today and wasn’t there yesterday. I never, ever thought I would say that.

The Briars

Sooo I’ve been in Canada since Sunday, and Jacksons Point since Monday. And let me tell you, this place is awesome. My family came here to the Briars, which is a little ‘resort’ on Lake Simcoe, in the tiny tiny town of Jacksons Point three years ago, and my parents, brother, dad’s parents and mom’s Dad stayed in a cabin right next to the lake. It’s kind of a la the resort in Dirty Dancing, so you can imagine my confusion as to why I haven’t already found a man like this:

Well, we’re all back this summer, minus my mom’s Dad. We’re in a different cabin this year, but I think I like this one better. We’re literally right on the lake, all the rooms have a great view (except mine, go figure) and there’s a deck, screened-in porch, and a crickety old staircase that leads down to the water to our own little private beach (man made slab of concrete). It’s beautiful.

I honestly have not been doing anything. It’s been a whole lot of me sitting in a white wooden Adirondack chair pretending to read Rousseau’s Rêveries du promeneur solitaire and actually listening to In the Mountain In the Cloud while watching the lake. This morning I was down on our ‘beach’ and wildlife must have been enjoying my music, because I turned around and found myself vis-à-vis to an otter. YES, that’s right. An otter. Just like in Pocahontas. It was at that moment I envisioned myself on a canoe singing “Just Around the River Bend.” But I digress.

Did you know that otters like Portugal. The Man?

So all in all, this has been a fantastic trip. My grandparents are awesome - my grandma is always singing songs she doesn’t know the words too while planning our next meal and asking, “Who’s ready for wine?!” She is me in 50 years, and it’s awesome. I did some yoga this morning outside, which was lovely, besides the lady next to me who was breathing waayyy too loudly and moaning just a bit too much. Awkward.

This was happening next to me

Alrighty, well judging by my headache, it’s just about time for me to find some coffee, and after that it’s dinner in the lodge. Oh la la. I hope you’ve enjoyed this chock-full-o-pictures post, à plus!!

Paix.

I love this band so much, but for some reason I can’t upload the new song I wanted to. However, this will do.

Now go download Portugal. The Man’s new album, In the Mountain In the Cloud, immediately. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.

This one is for Emma.

We all have those people who make us exponentially happier when we talk to them. One of mine is Emma MacLean. If you do not have Emma in your life, I feel really bad for you.

What WHAAAAT miss you gurrrrrl.

BHA Semi Formal... Emma's downfall

Things that are awesome right now

1. An incredibly rainy day turned out to be absolutely gorgeious, so instead of starting to pack up my apartment for my move (I’m leaving for Canada for a week so I need to get started early, fyi) I plan on going outside and reading in the park across the street from me.

2. Working outside is finally paying off - I am getting a tan. Which is hard for me. Nevermind the messenger bag tan line on my shoulder and chest. Maybe hipsters will like it.

3. Harry Potter on Friday.

4. I just bought a ton of French poetry for my MA exams and am actually very excited to jump headfirst into them. Yes, that’s right. I like poetry now. Hey everyone, look how cultured I am.

5. Leftover Oodles of Noodles pad thai.

Paix!
